The Politician

During Wimbledon this year (of which more anon) I took a detour to Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands in Surrey, part-showroom, part-museum, part-visitors' centre. As you can see, it's a fabulous piece of architecture and well-worth a visit (particularly as it's free!). These are the best images, processed in Adobe Lightroom which I've just started using. If you want good Raw workflow software you just can't beat it!

A Car That Sped

I recently spent a happy, if sunburnt, day at Brands Hatch, always a happy photographic hunting ground. This was the HSCC event on 4/7, and the Grand Prix track was being used, which means loads of great vantage points for capturing the racing action. As you can see, there were plenty of rivals for the best shots! This is a selection of mine, hurriedly cobbled together at a friend's insistence (you know who you are!). Anyhow, enjoy.

To The City

Thirteen Steps Lead Down

I work in Cambridge as a photographer, which means that I hardly ever take photos in this beautiful city – the closer you are to anything the less likely you are to appreciate it. However, I recently bought my first D-SLR, the Canon EOS 50D, and resolved to ignore no longer the great photographic potential on my doorstep. This is a favourite image of mine showing the Fitzwilliam Museum, a shot from the first of, no doubt, many forays into the city.

Begin the Begin

Well here goes.... I'm not too sure where this blog will go or what it will feature, but hopefully it'll be fun & unusual along the way. To begin with let's clear up the origin of the name: it's taken from the title of a song by Gene, a criminally-underrated band who deserved better. I apologise in advance for the video's general pantsness, but I couldn't simply embed the MP3 (or haven't found out how to yet, at any rate), & frankly had more important things to do than go to town on it. Anyhow, enjoy.

If the thought of hearing more music like this, or reading more of this kind of verbose nonsense doesn't send you scurrying for the valium, then keep a weather eye out for more random updates with random content at random intervals.
